The route type:

Rappelling trip.

The canyon above Ein Bokek spring is dry all the year round but be wary about floods during winter rains.

All rappelling stations are equipped with some anchors. *

You have to bring your own rope loops to connect the bolts and to reinforce the stations.

Getting there:

Drive on the road number 90 along Dead Sea to the south.

Between 213km and 212km distance marks you will arrive to the entrance into Ein Bokek hotels area. Park your car here.

Follow the marked trail (red marks) that gradually climbs to the main plateau and turns into a dirt road when on the plateau. Follow the "red" trail till a junction with another trail marked with green marks and turn left to the "green" trail. Follow the trail for about 2km and turn left into an obvious wadi that immediately comes to the edge of the plateau. Nahal Bokek canyon is very impressive and seen well from the approach.

Climb down a couple of rocky steps to the first dry fall rappelling station.

Another 500m of walking will bring you to a section of the canyon covered with dense vegetation. This is Ein Bokek spring. Further in the canyon you will find very nice water pools and tiny waterfalls. It is very refreshing to bathe here after a hot and dusty rappelling day...
